CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Scattered showers and isolated rumbles of thunder remain possible through the afternoon and early evening.

A cold front is on the way and will usher in more seasonable temperatures for early January tonight.

Temperatures will start the evening in the 50s before dropping into the 40s as we wrap up any evening activities.

By Thursday morning, temperatures will be into the mid 30s.

The storm system that has brought us the rain and mild temperatures will continue to have an impact on Northeast Ohio Thursday.

Daytime highs will remain in the lower 40s as moisture returns initially in the form of rain before transitioning to a wintry mix Thursday night.

Activity will be scattered across the area.

A few lingering flurries will be around Friday morning as we open the door to more seasonable temperatures to take us into the weekend with highs in the mid 30s.

An active pattern will bring back another round of wintry weather Sunday before drier conditions take over next week.
