19 First Alert Weather Days: Heavy rain transitions to snow tonight into Friday
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Winter Weather Advisories are in place for Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Summit counties through Friday night.
This is the area where we expect to see the highest snowfall totals with this evening.
The wintry mix tonight transitions to a slushy snow where an inch or two is possible by Friday morning.
Lake effect activity will take over for most of Friday with the greatest snowfall impacts expected closer to the lakeshore.
It is in this zone that we could see 2″ to 6″ of snowfall with locally higher amounts possible throughout Friday.
Friday will be a chilly day with temperatures falling out of the 30s in the morning to the 20s by the afternoon.
Winds gusting in excess of 30 mph will lead to wind chill values into the teens.
This activity will come to a close Friday leaving us with a dry, but chilly start to the weekend.
Highs Saturday will be into the upper 20s with more sunshine on the way, before we return to the upper 30s and lower 40s Sunday afternoon.
