Northeast Ohio weather: Colder air returns Wednesday, rain chances build Wednesday night
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Hopefully you have had a chance to soak in some of the sunshine across Northeast Ohio today.
Temperatures have soared into the middle 50s in many locations.
As we wait for a cold front to pass through this evening, winds will be gusty at times upwards of 30 mph.
We cannot rule out some spot showers to a little bit of drizzle this evening, but many will remain dry as the clouds continue to thicken this evening.
Overnight lows drop into the middle and upper 30s.
We will not see a huge jump in temperatures Wednesday as clouds hold daytime highs into the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Our next system arrives Wednesday night as rain chances will increase from southwest to northeast after sunset.
Widespread showers will take over Wednesday night into Thursday before temperatures make a return to the 50s once again.
The warm up will be brief as colder, more seasonable, air settles in just in time for the weekend.
With temperatures into the 30s, we will monitor for areas of light lake effect snow across our primary snowbelt Friday before another system takes shape by the end of the weekend.
