Northeast Ohio weather: Dry tonight, snow returns Sunday
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - We are tracking another chance for snow Sunday.
This will be a more widespread opportunity for Northeast Ohio.
Snow showers start to develop to the west of I-71 just after sunrise Sunday morning.
The snow will continue to spread to the east through the morning and afternoon.
Heavier bursts of snow will be possible that may lead to slick road conditions and reductions in visibility.
Generally light snowfall accumulations are expected with this system through Sunday evening.
Widespread 1″ to 3″ will be common with some isolated higher totals closer to 4″ possible.
Once the system snow exits Sunday evening, lake effect snow will take over into Monday morning.
Generally light amounts are expected with this second wave of activity with 1″ to 2″ additional snow possible under the most persistent bands.
Sunshine tries to peek through on Tuesday before we gear up for our next wintry system by the middle of the week.
This mid to late week system looks to bring additional accumulating snowfall to Northeast Ohio along with colder temperatures by next weekend.
