Middlefield manufacturing facility engulfed in flames; 22 departments respond
MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio (WOIO) - A custom wood molding manufacturing facility in Middlefield was reduced to ash in a blaze that destroyed the building.
Mouldings One, a division of Hardwood Lumber Company, caught fire around 8:10 p.m. on March 9, and was still smoking through the next morning.
Middlefield Fire Department was far from alone in their battle of the blaze - 21 additional fire departments came to assist due to the limited water at 13851 Station St.
Chardon Fire sent a tanker and ladder truck, and Trumbull Township Fire and Rescue staged a tanker at the Hambden Fire Department while crews were committed to the fire.

Firefighters began with an interior attack and were pulled out when the roof began to burn, officials say.
The fire department confirmed a defensive strategy was taken after the crew left the building.
Officials say multiple alarms were dropped due to the severity of the fire.
No injuries were reported, officials say.

The fire is under investigation by the Middlefield Fire Department, the Geauga County Fire Investigation Unit and the State Fire Marshals Office.
