Northeast Ohio weather: Light snow returns Sunday, wintry weather lingers into the work week
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Our next weather maker sits just to our west tonight.
This will bring light snow showers to even a brief wintry mix to our area Sunday.
The main energy and track of this system will be well to our south, so the forcing to see widespread heavy snow is not likely for us.
Little to no accumulation is expected.
Temperatures tonight will fall into the 20s.
Don’t forget to turn those manual clocks ahead one hour before going to bed tonight as Daylight Saving Time returns at 2 AM!
Sunrise Sunday morning will be at 7:44 AM but we will wake up with the clouds and scattered snow showers moving into the region.
The heavier bursts of snow will dissipate by midday and then just lingering flurries and sprinkles will hang around into the afternoon for some.
Sunset Sunday will be at 7:30 PM with the new time change.
A stronger piece of energy will arrive Monday to keep light snow chances in the forecast.
Lake effect flurries and windy conditions will stick around Tuesday before a midweek warm up and more sunshine Wednesday.
At this time, St. Patrick’s Day is looking to be mild to start with temperatures in the 50s before a front arrives and brings rain chances to the area the second half of the day.
