19 First Alert Weather Day: Strong winds continue tonight, improving conditions Sunday

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - After strong to severe storms rolled through Northeast Ohio today, conditions are slowly improving headed into the overnight.

HIGH WIND WARNINGS and WIND ADVISORIES remain in place until midnight.

Winds have gusted upwards of 70+ mph as storms rolled through earlier today.

Wind gusts outside of thunderstorm activity have still been close to 60 mph at times.

Colder air behind the cold front that moved through earlier this afternoon will continue to drop temperatures into the mid 30s overnight.

Winds could still gust upwards of 40 mph at times after midnight.

Breezy conditions start the day on Sunday before we see wind speeds relax by the afternoon.

Plenty of sunshine and slightly cooler temperatures take over Sunday afternoon with highs into the lower 50s.

A second cold front drifts into Northeast Ohio Sunday night to bring a few light showers to the mix Monday morning and cooler afternoon temperatures in the 40s.

This cooler pattern will stick around through the first half of the week before warmer conditions return ahead of next weekend.
