Bicyclist severely injured in hit and run on Cleveland’s East Side

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 30-year-old woman riding a bike was struck by a car on the city’s East side Thursday morning.

The crash happened just before noon in the area of E. 91st Street and Superior Avenue.

After the accident, police said the driver fled the scene.

Police said the woman was riding her bicycle when she was struck by a black Dodge Challenger.

The woman attempted to cross Superior outside of the marked crosswalk, police said, when she crashed into the right side of the car going well over the 35 MPH speed limit.

The woman was transported to University Hospital Medical Center in serious condition, officials say.

This is in the city’s Hough neighborhood.
