CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - High pressure will remain overhead today, keeping our weather very quiet for the foreseeable future.

Expect plenty of sunshine today.

Temperatures will climb into the upper 60s and lower 70s this afternoon.

Inland communities, such as Akron and Canton, will be well into the 70s today.

Saturday will feature a similar forecast with temperatures in the lower 70s along the lakeshore and upper 70s inland.

The 19 First Alert Weather Team is monitoring a developing area of low pressure off the coast of Georgia.

This coastal system will move north up the eastern seaboard through the weekend, and some of its moisture will try to move northwest into Ohio this weekend.

For now, we expect the precipitation associated with this system to stay well to our southeast, however, some cloud cover will slip in from time to time over the weekend.

Sunday will be a little warmer with highs in the mid 70s for many locations.

Monday, Memorial Day, will be the warmest day of the holiday weekend with highs in the upper 70s.

After Monday, as May draws to a close, temperatures will really begin to heat up.

Expect highs in the 80s Tuesday through Friday.

Thursday, the first day of June, may very well be the warmest day of the year so far with highs in the mid 80s!
